In cooperation with Dow Jones Indexes and STOXX Limited, SAM publishes and licenses the Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes (DJSI), a series of global sustainability benchmarks launched in September 1999. The combination of the know-how of the world's leading index providers, Dow Jones & Company and STOXX Limited, with SAM's many years of sustainability expertise has resulted in a family of indexes that provides a growing number of asset managers with objective and professional benchmarks for sustainability investments. The indexes are based on SAM's corporate sustainability assessment, which identifies global sustainability leaders on the basis of economic, environmental and social criteria. The DJSI are also used as a basis for the Dow Jones Islamic Market Sustainability Index.

SAM's research is also the basis for the Australian SAM Sustainability Index (AuSSI) launched in 2005. The index is published in cooperation with the Environment Protection Authority Victora and a leading national newspaper, The Australian, and provides a solid benchmark for sustainability-driven investments into Australian companies.
