michael-baldinger.jpgMichael Baldinger, Chief Executive Officer, Michael Baldinger is Chief Executive Officer and a member of SAM’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining SAM, Michael Baldinger was Head of Distribution in the Americas for the Credit Suisse’ asset management division in New York. Before Credit Suisse, Michael Baldinger worked at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. (New York), where he was Managing Director of institutional equity sales. In that role, he was responsible for large institutional clients and for building up the brand name of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in Switzerland. Michael Baldinger started his career at CSFB in Zurich, where his last position was head of proprietary trading and floor trading of foreign equities.

rainer-baumann.jpgRainer Baumann, CFA Head of Portfolio Management, Rainer Baumann is Head of Portfolio Management and Member of the Executive Committee. In his position he is responsible for coordinating and overseeing SAM's portfolio management activities related to the development of the investment processes, optimization of portfolio strategies and team structure. He is also the Lead Portfolio Manager for the SAM Sustainable Multi-Theme Strategy, as well as several institutional mandates. Prior to joining SAM in 2002, he spent three years with UBS Wealth Management as a Portfolio Manager responsible for large private asset management mandates and as a member of the local investment committee. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Rainer Baumann holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Zurich and is a CFA charterholder.

stefan-gordijn.jpgStefan Gordijn, Chief Operating Officer, Stefan Gordijn is a member of SAM’s Executive Committee and assumes the role of COO. Before joining SAM, he has been Chief Operations Officer at Robeco in Hong Kong since 2007 with responsibility for finance, legal, tax, compliance, human resources and IT. He previously headed the legal team of Robeco Asset Management in Rotterdam. As of 1998, he was as a lawyer at Rabobank Nederland in Utrecht. Gordijn studied law at the University of Utrecht and started his professional career at the law firm of “Banning van Kemenade en Holland” in Den Bosch (NL).

neil-johnson.jpgNeil Johnson, CFA Head of Global Clients & Marketing, Neil Johnson is Head of Global Clients & Marketing and Member of the Executive Committee. He is also Head of Sales at SAM USA covering institutional clients and investment advisers. Between 2000 and 2009, Neil Johnson was an institutional asset management sales director for Credit Suisse Asset Management and AIG Investments in New York. Johnson also has extensive experience as an investment consultant. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science from Union College, Schenectady, and is a CFA charter holder.

andrew-musters.jpgAndrew Musters, Global Head of Private Equity for SAM and Robeco, manages both the Zurich based SAM Private Equity business and the Rotterdam based Robeco Private Equity team. Additionally, Mr. Musters is a member of the Allocation and Advisory Committees. Mr. Musters has been involved in private and public equity investing for the Dutch pension plan ABP (now called APG) prior to his current role at SAM and Robeco. Previously, Mr. Musters was a researcher of the Eindhoven University of Technology, focusing on mathematical business modeling for energy and electric utility companies. Mr. Musters, who is the author of a number of scientific papers, received a MSc cum laude in Industrial Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology with a specialization in Energy and Environmental Technology, an MA cum laude in Economics from Tilburg University and has followed executive education programs at the University of Amsterdam and INSEAD.

daniel-wild.jpgDaniel Wild, PhD Head of Research, Daniel Wild is the head of SAM Research and a member of the Executive Committee. In his position he is responsible for the organization, strategy, methodology and investment process of the SAM Research team. He also coordinates research for the SAM Sustainable Water Strategy and covers the water-related industry and technology sectors. Daniel Wild holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich. He earned his PhD in Environmental Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG) under the supervision of Professor Willi Gujer. Following postdoctoral research studies in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of Stanford University (USA) from 1997-1999, he joined the engineering and consulting firm Ernst Basler + Partners Ltd. in Zollikon as Head of the Environmental Technology Department and carried out consulting mandates in Switzerland, Eastern Europe and Asia. From 2004-2006, Daniel worked as Program Manager in the Infrastructure Financing Department at the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (seco), where he was in charge of infrastructure investments in Macedonia, Kosovo, Poland and Vietnam.
