The Sustainability Yearbook 2009

"The Sustainability Yearbook 2009" is one of the world's most insightful publications on corporate sustainability and the related challenges and opportunities for companies. Each year the 2500 largest companies in the world (as reflected in the Dow Jones Wilshire Global Index) are invited to participate in SAM's Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Only the top-scoring 15% from the 57 sectors assessed are included in the Sustainability Yearbook.

SAM Distinctions
for the most sustainable companies

SAM has analyzed over 1000 companies last year of which the best ones - 367 companies - are listed in the Sustainability Yearbook 2009. 57 of them were identified as "SAM Sector Leaders". In addition, the companies in the Yearbook with the strongest focus on sustainability qualified for the SAM Gold, Silver and Bronze Class distinctions, depending on their accomplishments. A SAM Sector Leader only qualifies for the SAM Gold Class if it achieves a minimum total score of 75%. Peer group companies whose total score lies within a range of ?5% lower than the SAM Sector Leader are also awarded SAM Gold Class. For more details click here:
